But with the wizardry of the players at... High School, those unlikely elements came to life Saturday in the Shakespeare classic, "The Tempest."

The tale begins when Prospero, the slighted, abandoned Duke of Milan who was shipwrecked on the island years ago, calls up a tempest to wreck the ship of his usurping brother Antonio. But the chaos quickly piles up when Prospero's daughter meets and falls in love with the prince of Naples, Ferdinand; two clownish boors come across Prospero's monster slave Caliban; and the ship's crew begins to wander the island in search of the prince.

Luckily, Prospero has all the spirits of the island at her command, and with her interference, something dramatic is bound to happen.

Colleen M.... was a solid Prospero, never betraying that the role was written for a male but never weakening it to feminize the character. As her daughter Miranda, Emily ..... had a chipper charm, playing the character with the childlike wonder at the "brave new world" crashing onto her home.....

I had made previous arangements with Jim who is a fine pilot and is able to lease a cessna 172, ( 4 passenger, High wing, single engine Plane) anytime, at that airport.....He said he'd be happy to reserve a plane, and so to celebrate his 21st,, we took Jim, on a one hour

airial tour of the entire city,, we stayed about 1,500 feet off the ground, were in touch with the Rochester tower throughout, and saw all the geographic sites, like the lake and the Genesee River, the Beach and the Irondequoit Bay, all the highways,,, schools, shopping centers, etc. we flew right over the house, and over MCC where jim goes to college, we paced ourselves against cars on the NYS thruway,,, and traced the very roads we drove earlier that morning to get to the airport.... hahahahaha.. It was a good time. Cloudy though,,, : - ( ... the ceiling was solid and at about 3,500 feet..... but it worked out for us since we wanted to stay low anyway...I just wished it had been sunnier,, to add some color to the pictures...

Allisons school with tennis courts, ball fields and parking lots, and the downtown area and upper falls of the genesee river, as well as frontier field were easy targets for the camera...Tom's Apt. building is a brick 5 or 6 story building with green awnings,,, located on a street corner...

we had fun.. flew for just over an hour. and Jim really enjoyed it. Coincidentally, we flew from the the very same runway, where I enjoyed my FIRST airplane ride,,,, on the day that I also made my first parachute jump. hahahahah. and here 34 years later

From a fathers' perspective I felt that It was a far better "rite of passage" to give a child a bird's eye view of the very territory he spent his first 21 years driving around on,,,, than would be the obvious choice,,,,,,, of leaning on some bar somewhere,, simply because Jim was "now Legal".... hahahahaha Though i am SURE that will be a part of the plan here quite shortly!!!!. anyway enjoy the pictures
