Auntie Annie told about the first Easter in 1950 when she first met Mom.

I was privileged as their oldest to give this toast:

What a very happy occasion for all of us here tonight!

Mom and Dad’s love for each other and us, and our love for them has been unwavering these past 60 years, or for however long each of us has known them.

No matter what is going on in our lives, they are only a phone call or so away, to provide unconditional love and support to all of us.  They offer the advice or congratulations that we need.  We all know that Dad and Mom have such affection for us, and we for them.

We all benefit from the example mom and dad set in their lives, loving each other or as Aunt Marion would say when we were teenagers: the best thing your father can do for you kids is to love your mother, and the best thing your mother can do for you kids is to love your father.

And many decades later that has happened for our benefit.

Plus they have achieved happiness based on their love for God, with lives full of important accomplishments and experiences.  They live the love.

Most of us recall the 50th golden anniversary celebration, and how we toasted for many more years, partially fulfilled now by this even grander diamond anniversary at 60.

So let us toast to the continued bright future of Dad Pete and Mom Nellie, who continue to forge a heritage with wonderful memories none of us will ever forget.

Rejoice in the celebration of their 60 year marriage, a loveship which has given joy to us all.

Here's to Mom and Dad!

Uncle Justin paid tribute to his brother and sister-in-law, with a great story.

Jim had nice words saying. I don't think I'm going to heaven when I die, because I've seen heaven here.

Chris and Sherry in month 8.

Mary enjoys her lobster.

Mom shows the 1951 set of coins Jim found for us to give them.

The family gals.
