All,

A couple of updates from Chicago.

The Monday before Thanksgiving I had a hair transplant. The surgery went well and the stitches were removed yesterday. Maybe I will audition for the GEICO caveman insurance ad when the hair grows out!

I received this link from a friend. It is a nice musical card on the seasons. Mary T: Maybe Pete would like to put it on the weekly?

The same religious site has a lot of interesting items and links. You may want to check it out.

I will be taking a 2 week trip over to Germany for Christmas. My plans are to stay with Geoff and An Lang (Mary M's nephew, Kay's son) and their 4 children. They live in Munich. I plan to explore the area and we may also travel to Venice for several days. The plan is to fly out on the 17th and return on the 31st. I may extend the trip for a few days for a business meeting. One of the trips we may take as a group is to have a snow picnic in Salzburg, Austria. This is where Sound of Music was filmed which is my favorite musical.

I am very busy at work. For some reason, some programs move into a very busy phase during this typical slow time of year. With me taking off 2 weeks later this month, I am putting in long hours to get the team positioned to be productive in my absence. I probably won't send out Christmas cards (but I will get one off to dad), but I want to wish all of you and your families and wonderful and safe holiday season.

By the way, Chicago is a nice town to visit. Any takers for 2012? Note that you will need to bring some carrots, apples and grapes for the horses and some Spam meatloaf for the chickens. Yes, the chickens like Spam!

Love,
Gerald

Jerry,

Enjoyed your email update and also the wonderful musical card.

Wishing you a wonderful, blessed Christmas and fun trip to Germany.  Lucky you!

I am sending this link so you all can view this wonderful video - it touched my heart and took me back to our childhood, and I felt such an immense amount of pride and happiness to be able to understand the true value of the farming profession as this video depicts.

Great tribute to a very respectable profession...the farmer!

And God Made a Farmer......awesome!

To all the family farmers, we remember all that you did for your country, your community and your family.

Thank you for teaching us about life. We will not forget you!

If this doesn’t make your day, nothing will.
