We had one trick or treater, bumblebee Peter Martin
with mom Jill.
Congrats on your tenth anniversary: Magda and Chris
with Maura.
Thanks to so many who asked how we were after Sandy.
She did break a fence post as shown, but otherwise no
loss of power.
Hi,
This is from a fellow in Union Beach NJ and it shows what a
lot of folks are going through down there and because it's off the beaten
path you never hear about it. Very sad situation.
Regards,
Ed
Dear friends....My wife Carla and I have gotten a ton of emails asking how
we are...and so....
Sandy hit Union Beach as hard as Katrina hit the Gulf. Our mile and a half
square town lost 100 homes for now....more will be torn down. It's a war zone
here. My wife Carla and I live in the ground zero area in a small townhouse
community. One crumbled, and the rest all have blown out front and garage
doors. We stayed for the storm. A 5-foot tsunami destroyed our ground
floors....and the heating systems are shot too.
You need to get through a National Guard checkpoint and then a police
checkpoint to get to our home and there is a 7 PM curfew. It's Marshall law
in UB, but that will keep the looters at bay. We thank them at every
opportunity....they have done and are doing a great job.
Power won't come on for a few more days. We just lucked out and got a room
at the local Holiday Inn now that the shopping road has power.
HEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A SHOWER!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I learned something....AT&T ... during an emergency and we use
it....Version works much better.
Our turbine fight is on the back burner for a while. The First Battle of
the Planning Board will hopefully be delayed for months....but ya never know.
Our town lost a lot of rateables...that's going to hurt in our fight.
Also, some of our best fighters may leave.
But at least we survived and can rebuild. The Gulf has come a long way
back, and we will too. And my wife Carla and Dog Lulu are basically fine.
And most importantly, we hope you are all doing as OK as possible now that
Sandy is gone!!!!!

Our town is collecting food and blankets to drive there today.
I did teach geothermal this week, and filled the
blackboard pretty good.
I don't mind driving back and forth to NY when I can
listen to the top hits.
This week they said Ellie Goulding's old song was # 1,
but voters really meant they love her new song here:
Anything Could Happen (click on video), including a car accident at any time if
you are not careful.
I also liked the Katie Perry parody: I gotta stomach
ache to I'm wide awake, and Adele's Bond theme.
We are all looking forward to performing A Christmas
Carol radio play from 1939.
Here are the first pages
from 1843.
