The Big Tree was cut on Monday.

Good Morning, Peter and Mary !

May this find you both well.  I  hope the
cutting of the oak tree went without too
      much emotion on Monday.

I had hoped to see photos of the event
on "best e-mails."  No such luck.  How
do I get the images to appear on my screen?
Alert me.  Prayers and Love,  Auntie Rose

Auntie Rose,
Jim was there for the entire event.
His excellent camera captured the experience.
I arrived later with my Sony Problematic, and I have no photos.
Jim gave the tree cutter some great printouts.
Once Jim sorts through the dozen or so best pictures, he will email them to me to post on best emails.

Pete,

Pete,
I loved seeing the pics of Skye and the rest of her family on this week's best emails.

I didn't care for the new seat belt law though! :) Just kidding, very funny.

Do you have a new address for Raf and family?

To All:

I asked John .. to advise me of his situation regarding the horrendous Fire Disaster in California and then I'd pass his info on to you guys.

Find it attached...

Hi Ray,

It was great to see you and your Dad less than a week ago.  I stopped to
see Wil in C. City a couple times too.  Yes, he seems to be doing quite
well; it's just sad when someone strong and self-reliant loses
independence, but maybe there is something to be gained too.

Re: the fires.  The weather conditions improved yesterday and should be
quite favorable by tomorrow.  Of the half million residents (mostly in the
heavily populated coastal strip of San Diego County) who were evacuated,
the majority have been allowed to return home.  The town of Ramona where I
grew up is still closed off because their water supply got depleted and
reservoirs need to be refilled.  No telling when we might get rain,
probably a month or two yet.

I have stayed at Brother Rich's house the last two days because roads to
Palomar have been closed; Rich and his family and cousins Marita and
Delores  are safe (though the care center that Dee lives in was
evacuated for awhile).  As to the Observatory where I live and work, some
staff have stayed on site till now, but I just saw that the superintendent
has ordered a complete evacuation... the wind change that is helping
coastal communities is pushing a big fire in our direction.  So, things
are much in the air for me at this point.  But I am taking it one day at a
time.  I have learned to let most worries go, especially since I cannot do
anything about them for now.  Will let you know when I know more.

Best regards,
John

Hi Peter,
This is the one we were talking about.

This new football helmet design with miniature air bags should reduce injuries!

And on the lighter side of football, here is the play with 14 laterals.
