Congrats Anne and Dale
on the birth of Grace Elizabeth,
obviously straight from heaven!
And to new Grandparents Ray and Roxie!
Hi to all,
I just talked with Jerry to see if he
has evacuated, and he plans to leave about 3 am for Lenore's in Austin. The
storm will probably turn into a Cat 3, which is a bit lower than Hurricane
Ivan was that hit Pensacola. It is a big storm.
We are having horrendous winds here
from it already, and we have 15-20 foot waves in the Gulf. The waves have
caused roads to flood and downtown Pensacola had some flooding problems
today. So you can imagine how wide this storm is.
Glad it is not hitting here!
Sue
Pete,
I left Houston about 3 a.m. on Friday. I am staying with cousin Lenore just
north of Austin. As big as the storm was, Austin received little wind and no
rain. The area here is very dry and they would have gladly taken 2-6 inches
off Houston's hands.
Most of Houston is without power and most residents stayed in the city. This
is a bad combination as there is also no water. It is going to be very
uncomfortable for these people. I have no plans to head back at this time. I
will likely go into work Tuesday or Wednesday and then head to Houston from
there. I am in contact with my boss to see if (they are) going to create
some corporate volunteer operation.
Regards,
Gerald

And on the other side,
Some people will do anything to get elected.
Everyone is talking about the presidential election
24/7.
And everyone wants to know who you are voting for and
why.
It's amazing!
I thought everyone was busy watching you tube home
videos of guitar hero!
