This is an image I took from the car returning from the wake of Mary and Lou's mom Virginia.

It is the reconstructed waterfront along the river in Virginia's town.

For her role in bringing this project to fruition as a member of her Planning Board,

she was awarded the city's Citizen of the Year award for 2001.

She also was named Rotary Club member of that year.

She will be dearly missed, and we extend our deepest sympathy to George and to all of Mary's family.

You guessed it
'IN GOD WE TRUST'
  IS GONE!!!
If ever there was a reason to boycott something, THIS IS IT!!!!

(Words are on the sides, but not front or back)

Preposterous!!!!
i  have  another  idea.
Go  ahead  collect  as  many  as  you  can,  and  mail  them  to  me...
I  will  trade  them  in,  in  lots of  25,  for  a  Fifty  Dollar  Bill,  which  i  KNOW  says,  In  God  We  Trust...
i  will  then  reimburse  YOU  three times the   postage  you  spent  to  send them  to  me...
This  way,,,   They  are  out  of  your  hands,  i  do  all  the  work,,,  to  swap  them   for  REAL  money,,  paper money..
and  if  it  pleases  anyone,  I'll  use  some  of  those  coins  to  BUy  the very  stamps  i'll  use,   to  send  you  your  reimbursement  money...
win  win  for  all.  spread  the  word, tell  your friends,,,, i  can  handle as  many  as  you can  send... ; - )  Take  'em  ALL  off  your  hands,,,,
.  I'll  put  out  a  quarterly  report  of  my  progress..
C'mon !!!!  Let's  help  make  this  happen  !!!!!
hahahahahah

The Engineering Corner:

The most complicated construction project of all time! If you can get this to open it is so cool.  I've wondered for a long time what it looked like today, now I can see it very clearly!

China alarmed by US money printing

"He who goes borrowing, goes sorrowing," said Mr Cheng.

It was a quote from US founding father Benjamin Franklin.

From reader comments:

The music is slowing down and there are no chairs left...

A Board I volunteer on, is having a book written.

The author suggested it should be printed overseas.

I asked why it was better to ship the books across the ocean,

rather than letting a US company do this work.

This picture of idle cargo ships in the Singapore harbor gives one answer.

So simple - so Irish

So Paddy asks Murphy: "Why do scuba divers always fall backwards off their boats?"

To which Murphy replies, "Well, if they fell
forward they'd still be in the boat!"
