We had a relaxing time at Bob and Caren's home in the Carribean.

It was a great reunion, 43 years after we six first met each other as college Freshmen.

Together again with spouses Bob, Peter, Noel and Alice.

We saw the house location as Bob points out, on this St. John model map.

Smooth direct flight from JFK to St. Thomas.

Ferry ride to our island.

Peter and Bill at an overlook.  Jim and Bob were great chauffeurs on those steep and windy roads.    Drink right. Drive left!

The house as seen from the salt flats trail below, with ultra privacy.

The 10 of us enjoyed many great meals together. Always indoor/outdoor dining.  Some barbequing near the screen porch.

With Kevin at a scenic overlook.

The drivers Jim and Bob.

Assembling at the SUV's.

Native plants at the house entry way.

View from my room.

A great salt water pool. Never once cold.

Alice aqua jogs.

This is living in the living room.  Caren always smiles.

With Peter on the beach.

Kevin, Alice and Noel at The Tourist Trap lunch restaurant.

We snorkeled around that island and back.

What a thrill for me to see a 4' shark up close, plus a giant sea turtle as it dove and rose for air. You can't beat snorkeling with your friends!

The nearby honeymoon cottage.

Jim and Alice and the cottage view.

I learned so much about bird watching from Peter and Christine. The black-necked stilt with long red legs protecting its chick was cool.

Bob tempts an iguana with a leaf.

Noel and Bill with a Steve Colbert for President license plate.

On the Westin resort grounds.

After Wil's service in Minnesota, (where Mary had to remain for official matters with agencies), my old college pals had me totally relaxed.

What a gorgeous unspoiled island is St. John.

Sunset on a trip we will not soon forget.

Thanks Caren and Bob for hosting us!

Pete
