Was It Done With a Lens, or a Brush?

Ian Austen for The New York Times
Their secret was a software technology known as H.D.R., for high dynamic range photography. And Mr. Dejesus quickly became one of its practitioners. “You can get different combinations of colors you cannot achieve with photos,” said Mr. Dejesus, who lives in Granada Hills, Calif., and posts his work under the pseudonym Kris Kros at www.flickr.com/photos/kros. “You can easily come up with something that looks like a painting.” H.D.R. is one of many digital darkroom techniques catching the fancy of amateur photographers. With the rising popularity of digital single-lens reflex cameras and more powerful personal computers has come a growing interest in visual experiments.

Andrew and Alexander -future OSHA inspectors with hardhats?
Thanks Auntie Ann for hosting our second cousins to your home and the wonderful lunch!
Here is a painting in Auntie Ann's home of the family house that Grandpa and Grandma built.
This is what I saw next door growing
up each time I looked out our kitchen window.
Johnny painted it years ago, and it still looks great.
Auntie Ann also had this photo dated August 6, 1995, exactly eleven years ago today. I scanned it in below.
Gianni and Enrico had just given me that huge bottle of vino to pour for
everyone at our common great grandparents' homestead near Napoli, Italy.
It was a pleasure to host their five daughters for Saturday evening dinner !
And here is the painting Enrico gave us that evening.
It still adorns our dining room.
Pete,
Show these to the girls, tell them
it's their relatives
from Connecticut and South Carolina (we were all
together for my brothers wedding and watched a lot of
the World Cup game). The car photo is my niece and nephew
(Kelsey that you met and her brother Kyle) and
their friend. I am leaning on the car rubbing it into
my friends who were France supporters. hahahahahahahaha
Laurie
Jack and Bibby,
Here is the photo for your brother Bill and his daughter Sophia.
They can see it when they return home to Scotland.
I thought the three of us came out
pretty good, and a lot of town folks commented positively on it.
