Pete, .......

We will be in the NJ section of the NY Times next Sunday. Feature article on
how campers communicate with their parents in the high tech age.  Times
called Chris' camp to ask and the director who I know fairly well said I was
perfect person to compare old way vs new way.  New way is internet posting
of pictures of kid by camp and e-mail.  James even sent home a cell phone
picture which he used to e-mail the picture to us. (I will send it to you in
another e-mail.)  NY Times photographer was here today and literally must
have taken 100's of pictures (on digital camera) of our computer (with
pictures from camp web site and me and Alice.   Jim

Congratulations James!  We'll look for you next week in the Times!

A little more Burr and then it's over I swear!

Here's a picture with my name that my sister Joanne found on

a newspaper web site and sent me.

Antonio Burr (C), a descendant of Aaron Burr's cousin, is rowed to shore as Peter ______(2nd-L) looks on during a reenactment marking the 200th anniversary of the Alexander Hamilton - Aaron Burr duel in Weehawken, New Jersey. The historic July 11, 1804 duel left founding father Hamilton mortally wounded and vice president Burr's reputation ruined.

July 11, 2004

Here is my cousin Carl dressed as Alexander Hamilton, and me as Aaron Burr,

giving a presentation to 55 people at our local library.

Later, in front of our town museum, we fired off the pistols just like last week

in a follow up Duel reenactment, and moment of silence tribute.

Good Morning, Peter,
I am sure that Ann Marie will extend our thanks to you, Carl and his
daughters on behalf of the library, but I just wanted to let you know how
well your re creation and adaptation of the Burr-Hamilton Duel was received
by those who attended. Every comment I heard was positive. People loved the
costumes, the dramatic presentation and learning about an historical figure
who is both connected with our town and yet shrouded by the misinformation
of history. Many asked when we would be doing something like this in the
future and I had several requests for copies of the passage on the statue of
King George being converted to ammunition. It was by far the best attended
adult program we've had in a long time!

Congratulations,
Ellen

You are welcome Ellen!

This is the end of full time Burr work for me now.

( Except that a museum in another state has asked me to play Burr at their conference next fall.

And I am happy to oblige! )
