I had a great week in California seeing old college buddies Dan and John.

Thanks John for taking me around the Silicon Valley sites, and for dinner with Lani and Spencer.

Could Spencer be on his way to our alma mater?

The geothermal training job in San Jose.

My favorite hotel, Hyatt Regency Embarcadero Center.

Visited it, but did not stay overnight this time like I did in 1977 when it first opened.

The hummingbird doing rolls chasing a bug is really something!!! And the night scenes w/the bats in the moonlight on those blooming cactus are unreal. WOW! ENJOY!!

This is beautiful.......be sure and watch closely (at around 2 min 40 sec) and check out the baby bat under its mama. Unreal
If you never knew what goes on in the garden when you aren't paying
attention. Watch this - some of the finest photography you will ever see.

What a crazy, delightful ever changing world! Who could have thought that in 2012 young people in Moscow would put on
a "flash mob" happening, dancing to an 83 year old American song written by Irving Berlin, a Russian-born American

Last week I traveled to Alaska and spent a week paddling in Prince William Sound. It was great fun but cold. It rained almost every day and the temperature only reached into the 50s for the high. Due to the heavy snowfall this winter, there was alot of snow still on the mountains and there were many streams of melted snow coming down the mountains. It was interesting to kayak in ice flows around the glaciers.
