F A M I L Y

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.
He said, "Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you."
We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said good-bye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.
While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,
"While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use,
but the children you love, you seem to abuse.
Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.
Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."
By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.
"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.
I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."
I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway."
I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are
working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.

But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don't you think? So what is behind the
story?
Do you know what the word FAMILY means?

Auntie Rose's Birthday Party

Dear Pam and Fred.....                                                               Wed. morning 5-14-03

Well I got home last evening and enjoyed the drive by reminding myself of all the wonderful things that happened on this past Mothers Day Weekend..... Wow.. it was great. You know how to throw a party!!!!!... and my guess......is that YOUR home has been the site of many many  such events, with the worlds widest variety of personalities.... imaginable.....The walls there have echoed with your wonderful Laugh,,,,,,,, Pam.....and with the laughter of your guests!!!!....and I know they will continue doing so.!!!!....
You are a real sweetheart and your abilities are exceeded only by your imagination,,,, AND then,, by the willingness to put in the efforts to accomplish your plan....
The hat was VERY much well received by Nancy,,,,and we talked for hours about all the fun which was had......Thanks very much Pam...
Oh Fred,,, I DID stop at Pepperell and drove over to the drop zone.. They have a good looking operation,, De haviland Twin Otter....... but it was cloudy and only a handful of people were there.... I stopped in part,, because about the time I got onto 495 south,,, the skies had cleared,, and the sun was shining,, but then ....by the time I got to Rt. 113,, it clouded up again.... Anyway.. it was nice to at least SEE the place....
I did 535 miles on the van yesterday,,,, about the time I got past Syracuse,,, Allison called me to say she was finished with her last exam,,, so I just kept running, and went south at Roch,,, (instead of North to Irondequoit) so that  we both returned home around 6 PM....... I hope your work day went well and that the week ends quickly for you,,,, so that you can "recover" this sat. and sun.    : - )
Thanks also for the computer time, I keep in contact with certain of my friends,,  many of whom lead "awfully dramatic lives",,,hahahaha. so it was good to check in with some of them...
Love Ya' Pam. Love Ya' Fred.
Auntie Roses' "Seventy Tenth"  ( She is way too young at heart to be 80)   birthday,,,,,,,
will stay in our hearts forever.......because of YOU...

love from Jimmy and Nancy and Allison and Jim

Thanks Peter,

These pictures are wonderful and we're delighted to have them!
It was such a memorable time...that last hour particularly, when each of us had the opportunity to express thoughts and feelings we never had...openly anyway!

Congratulations to Pam & Fred on hosting the party of a lifetime.

Love, Aunt Lorraine

Pete
