This is a scene from my town. Daffodils in the morning, with a red barn in the distance.

We had a wonderful Friday night playing bocce on our lawn with our 10 friends.

Franco brought his own bocce ball pair with brass coatings, that were gifts from his father.

What we call the Pallini, he calls the Pallino.

Here is an image drawn by distant cousin Laurie and given to me as a card present.

It shows men playing bocce in Italy. Simply wonderful!

Lou added the mentos candies to this 2 liter bottle of soda, and like a geyser, it sprout up a dozen feet.

I tried it after bocce, and mine went 10' high! (You need a pipe delivery system.)

Be careful if you try this great fun, because the initial reaction force can spray you hard, and hurt you.

But it looks like a good event for the Fourth.

Miniature golf anyone?

I played golf last week, and decided at the first hole that no matter how poorly I did, I would not get upset, or even show any negative reaction to bad shots.

When I played with Tom in Virginia, I shot my usual 58 on each nine holes.

After one great drive, I got ready for about a 150 into the green, and was about to swing when I looked up and the foursome ahead of us was still sitting in their carts after they had returned the pin.

So I walked away from my stance, came back to it, and proceeded to shank it.

I said "Damnit, why couldn't they have played properly, and gotten off the green quickly?

Now I blew my best chance so far for a par" (I did have one on 16 only)

Tom said "Pete why are you getting so worked up about it?"

I agreed and said nothing.

So when I started this round I said "No cussing or any negative reactions!"

I putted pretty good, and had a 54 on the front nine.

I met an eye doctor from San Paulo on the tenth hole and played the back 9 with him.

With no negative reaction, I played better, and drove to the center of the fairway with him generally.

By the 17th hole, I added my score to 41.

I said "Marcus, if I get a 4 on the par three 18th hole, I will break 100 for the first time in years."

I kept my head down on my trusty 5 wood, and hit it solid about 160 yards uphill.

Marcus told me it was on the left and almost pin high.

I pitched a 5 iron 20 yards to within 8' uphill of the hole.

I needed a two putt.

I tapped it, and it went by the hole about a foot.

I tapped that in for my four, 45 (best nine ever there) 99.

This week, while cleaning out old construction stuff with dad, Chris and two men that he supervises came by in the afternoon to help.

I asked Dad if he wanted to save the nice white stone, and he said that it was from Wexler's job (in 1966)

I said, "well if no one wanted it for 40 years, I guess there's no point in continuing to store it", so out it went.

"That pipe was from Grandpa's original drains in the 1930's." (Okay out it goes!. Feng Shui says No clutter.)

Anyway, I told Chris about my golf strategy, and then told him I had started trying it in life.

"Under no circumstance will I get ticked off or show negative emotion."

Let's see if I can do it!
