1988 picture of Greg and Raf
Nice weekend in New Jersey
We had a great time in NJ with Gary at his and Nancy's home, and here at a supermarket Mary loves.
We also enjoyed the winemaking dinner where cousin Lou won a gold metal for his Chardonnay.
Here we were cheering dancers on last year. Jane is to my left. Frank is behind the woman in red.
Thank you Liza for hosting us all to support your brother!
And Alice was surprised when the door to her family room swung open, and we were there for her birthday party.
Jim, holding door, arranged it all.
This blue bird loved the below zero temperatures this week as much as I did!
All,
I finally went to see the Peanuts exhibit at the Chicago Science Museum today. I
mainly went to get some good pictures for dad, but I ended up having a good
time. Some things I learned-
1. Charles Schulz was born in Minneapolis in the 20s.
2. He had a dog named Spike (just like us). Snoopy had a brother called Spike in
the cartoon.
3. Schulz was in WWII and once refused to throw a grenade because a dog was in
the area.
4. Schulz was married twice.
5. His children asked him to cancel the series when he retired. They wanted the
cartoon to be their father's work. He honored their wishes.
6. His 1st love spurned him which may be why his characters were always
searching for love.
There was a sketching/drawing/coloring area for the kids.
