We also did some work, mowing off some land we own
so that a threatened species doesn't settle there, and stop new house construction.
Wait, what new house construction??
And here's a lot below that we've owned for about 25 years.
It's the first time I ever saw it up close, because a developer finally placed survey markers within a thousand feet of it!
Looks like someone else has been driving across my property! Maybe I should install a toll booth! Or place a trash can there!

We all laughed at cousin Barb's party in Florida, when my Godfather Uncle Johnny and Uncle Phil (who introduced Dad to Mom) chatted with their friends from the Bronx.
They discussed their different Italian American Clubs. Uncle John said that at our local club, they debated on whether to accept new members who had Italian last names only, or who were Italian because their mother was Italian, even if they had, say, an Irish last name.
One friend said "You're too fussy. At our club we need new members. We'll take in a prospect if he eats Italian food!"
Another friend said, "My kids love to visit me in Florida. They pack up the whole family in their Ford Expedition, and head down."
His friend said: "An Expedition? They better buy a gas station!"
